Whoa! It's week 6 of school already? It's really fast! There are so many deadlines to catch up with by next week! Yikes! Well, I guess there'll be absolutely no rest for any of us till Friday, where we can finally take a deep breath and embrace the holidays--at least the week after E-Learning.
So, anyway, it's been an interesting week for me...okay, not so interesting, but hey, in DCMD, everyday's a whole new experience!
On
Monday...
There's OC...like usual...working on ways on how to improve our presentation skills...I'm thinking of skipping next Monday's OC because I feel I have better things to do...So yeah, there was this part of the lesson where we had to try to sell a product and I got 6.5 out of 10. I expected a 5 'cause I didn't know what to say, really. I was never a born salesperson to begin with.

.:: The Woman In Black's Our OC Lecturer ::.
Then there's DET where again there are more whacky stuff to just make your brain pump and think...it's getting more interesting though...hahakz...and IDS....well...there's nothing for me to say there really...my pay hadn't roll in and I was pissed about it!
Then we go to
Tuesday...
The ONLY best thing about Tuesdays is the part where we have a long break in between CRS and IDS...so we made full use of that time to temporarily de-stress ourselves with FOOD! Yes, glorious food! Went to foodcourt 3 and P-A-R-T-Y!

.:: Nasi Padang...Yum! ::.

.:: Nicholas, Being Nicholas, Naturally Loves Taking Photos ::.

.:: Me, Audrey and Sharon ::.

.:: Almost Half of DCMD-1A-02 ::.

.:: From Left to Right: Vincent, ZiHao, Daryl, Nicholas, Audrey, Sharon, ZiHui and Me ::.

.:: I was Bored so I Took This Pic ::.
Note to Self: Remember to do up my layout for the website next Tuesday, save the whole folder, zip it and send it to my e-mail before E-Learning Week...
If you're still lost (for some reason), the day that comes next is
Wednesday...
Wohoo!! Yes, you know the drill...my ABSOLUTE favourite day of the entire week! It beats Sunday anytime! Okay, so I still dread having to wake up at 7 in the morning to go to school, but it's after class which I look forward to!

.:: My Fish Made Using Adobe Illustrator CS2 ::.
Well, what else can I say? Hiphop was THE BOMB! Okay, so I'm a bit biased to say that but I enjoyed myself! It's true what they say though, some people are only interested in the beginnings and then they sort of fall out thereafter, but I'm not complaining! The lesser people, the better, so you can really get the attention of the instructor and the dance captain and you can really find out where you went wrong or what mistakes you're making. So, yeah, it was fun learning new choreography and all, and I feel like a connection to the crew already. Clara's really nice (she's the dance captain by the way) and she pointed out at the end of the lesson that I kept stepping out with my left foot instead of my right. Whoops! But she's really nice about it...cool!
Then met up with Sue at Jurong East Interchange and went to JSB together. Funny, it's still the place we always go to just to hang and chill out.

.:: In the RTT Room ::.
Thursday...I always feel that Thursday is the day to relax a bit, because there's DWS, where you just shut yourself in a room, sit down with your classmates, forget about everything else, focus on one thing, and just let yourself go.

.:: In the Drawing Studio ::.

.:: Me and Audrey ::.
And then let's wipe our brows when we FINALLY get to
Friday...
Yes! VDS is STILL as tiring and stressful as ever! We were given some time to work on our bookmarks but we didn't get away with the tutorial bit. Hahakz...We got back our first assignment for HCD and for all that hardwork and sweat and emotional turmoil (exaggerated version of course) I received a proudly-earnt "A"! Wohoo! Hahakz...
We were released early, but my group stayed back to discuss further about out project. And then I stayed on to try and work more on my bookmark...it's now 75% done! Yay!!
For
Saturday...
Well, let's just say I started off work really well!
What's not to like? I'm working 12 to 9, which, in my opinion is the best shift ever! Okay, so I was walking to work and I was walking past KFC and I was squinting against the glare of the sun but I saw a rider ahead, but I wasn't sure who it was. Then he got nearer and I finally saw who it was. He was smiling at me, as in really cheerful kind of smile, not those polite ones the other riders usually give me when they pass by just to show they acknowledge you. And those dimples...yes, I'm still a sucker for them as painful as it is to admit. He was saying something to me but I couldn't quite catch it, firstly because I had my earphones on and the music was really loud, and secondly because he was moving. And hey, I grinned back. Hahakz...phew! The strain barrier's been knocked down a bit at least, I'm thankful for that. And they were having a pretend fight just now at work and it was funny!
But the BEST of all...I got to work with SUE! Yay!!
Finished closing damn early--again...hahakz...but then got caught by the duty manager and he told us we were meant to start closing only at 9...hahakz...but it's going to go in one ear and come out the next I guess...it's what happens to teenagers nowadays...stubborn...hahakz...

Wohoo! This week whizzed by so damn fast! I didn't realise I've been in school for over a month now, and I've not had a proper break yet. I think life in poly is going to be really interesting, and from what I've learnt so far, being in DCMD is not going to be a breeze. It takes a LOT of hardwork, energy, determination, passion, money, time and dedication. Getting INTO the course is one thing. STAYING there is another...
But I'm stoked! This week's been awesome!

.:: [DCMD 1A/02] ::.
So let's talk about
Monday...
Well, there's OC where we got to play charades! Wohoo!! It was really fun! No DET, so we had a long break, but we used that period of time to work on our VDS assignment (or tried to anyway). There was a flea market in school, which I managed to check out, and found there were lots of really interesting stuff there. Wanted to get a really cute keychain but my pay hasn't rolled in yet, and I still had some art materials to purchase (darn that assignment!). As usual, I just zoned out during IDS like usual...HCD lecture was hilarious! Mr Venkat showed us a video about sushi, but there are some exaggerated things added in to make everything funny...mamama...ototototo...hahakz....
Tuesday...
I had a GREAT day today! No, serious! CRS was kind of cool...we went to the library and there was this person who gave an introduction to the school library's facilities. After that we still had to go back to class for the rest of CRS, but we were released early. Hahakz...ZiHui, Sharon and I were in the loo when we heard Audrey's voice outside, so as a group--including Nicholas, Daryl and Syaiful--we headed over to foodcourt 3 since we have quite a long break. I've come to be really fond of the place there, because it doesn't feel like you're in school at all. In foodcourt 6, there are, like, really horrible-looking benches and stalls all aligned, but in foodcourt 3, it feels like you're in a cafe or something, with the mini waterfall and music and all...cool! Should go there more often and take pictures :P...IDS...Again...Not working for me...Let ZiHui listen to the 'Arnold's Pizza Shop' thing and she was laughing...hahakz...Wanted to meet Mr Leon Chua for VDS, but then ended up asking Ms Huei, but he eventually turned up...
It was really late by the time we were all done, and I still had to go buy my materials, so headed down to Popular at Jurong East Interchange, and ended up lugging the horribly huge cardboard home. Then, I was standing with my Dreamweaver textbook, and suddenly this guy asked me if it was a programme to design websites. Don't know how, we were talking and all, and he wanted to know if I was interested in designing a website for him. I was so stunned! It's like, hello, I'm only a freshman! I'll be paid if he likes it though. Anyone interested as well?
I LOVE
Wednesday to bits!
I had VDS in the morning, and it's a really cool session, 'cause everybody's just roaming around between both classes, doing their own stuff, like working on their assignments, and that sort of includes me. I was just sitting at my place and pasting the bloody coloured papers, which is like a total torture to do! I swear if I wasn't so patient with my assignment, I would've already given up long ago! I did a mosaic kind of thing, and in the end, I still didn't like it. Urgh!
We supposedly have this HIV talk, which I didn't even bother to attend despite the fact that it's COMPULSORY. The timing clashed with hiphop, and I paid for those, okay, so I just HAD to attend the session. While waiting for hiphop to start at 4, I continued with my VDS assignment. I think I've spent more waking hours doing them than anything else! It had BETTER be worth it!
Hiphop was a BLAST!!
Hahakz...did the warm-ups and all, did some choreography...and then we had a battle. Wohoo! We were divided into 4 groups, then we had to compete, and narrow it down to 2 people per group. So there's a total of 8 people who'll INDIVIDUALLY compete in the end, and don't know why, but my group just picked me out and another girl. Hahakz...guess who won?
Well, the vice captain or the senior said, "I'll tell Daniel you won the battle..."
Thursday...Firstly there was DET, where again, we have to 'tap' into our 'inner conscience' and things like that. And then more sketching still life with charcoal for Drawing Studio...

.:: [Charcoal Sketch #2] ::.
Oh...we're doing human anatomy, so I have to remember to sketch out that picture on the powerpoint slide...urgh! NUDE drawing SUCKS!
After school, I hung out with Sue at Bugis! FINALLY got to spend some time with her! Hahakz...even if it was only for a while...I had to go Art Friend to go get mounting boards (which is so darn expensive!!) and then lug it back...so troublesome! Luckily Sue was there to help! THANX!! MUAX! She also blanja me curry puff...hahakz...AWWWW....
Bumped into that website guy again...it crept me out a bit...*shudder*...
Friday...
AT LAST! Yes...it was judgement day...we were all REALLY stressed and the place was a mess! I had to run to the library to print my assignments and all, and there was this really really COOL girl who helped me print my write-up for free! OMG! It was so AWESOME of her! Then ran back up to the Design Studio, and everybody was mounting up their art pieces and all, it was REALLY busy!

.:: [My Fish] ::.

.:: [My 'Mosaic' Flowers] ::.

.:: [My Mutated Apple] ::.
Hahakz...then while the lecturers were evaluating our work, we were released for lunch. It was Jazreel's birthday and the rest had a little surprise planned for her! Hahakz...there was a cake to celebrate, and it felt great to just RELAX! It's like a huge weight have been lifted off our shoulders! We chilled out and had some fun!

.:: [From Left to Right: Yvonne, Nicholas, ZiHui, Me, ChaoYan, Angela, Audrey and Sharon] ::.

.:: [Nicholas, Me, Daryl and Andrea] ::.

.:: [ZiHui, Sharon, Me, Daryl] ::.

.:: ['Cap'ital Trio] ::.

.:: [Sharon, Me and Nicholas (That's Daryl's Cap By The Way...)] ::.
Hahakz...so when we went back to the Design Studio, the Year Twos were there, and so paisei la...one of them was reading my write-up...hahakz...and then he said he liked my mutated apple...hehe...it made my day!
During HCD, we had to go to places and observe the people there and what they were doing. ZiHui and I chose the bustop, where there aren't many people around at all...and when we went back, Mr Venkat told me he liked my mosaic piece...hahakz...COOL!
Then I had to work, which surprisingly wasn't busy at all! Whee!!
And then
Saturday...
Hmm...today was...how to put it...INTERESTING...
I had to work the full shift, which is completely rare...but I LOVE it! Morning wasn't busy, so we were all chilling out and stuff, and David didn't ONCE ask me to sweep the floor! Hahakz...hmmm...someone smiled at me today, and I was like, whoa! You might not understand the people, but that's the whole purpose...I suppose Sue's the ONLY one who knows the real situation...I was at the bar area, getting myself a drink and that someone was standing diagonally away, and then my dad came in because he was working the night shift. Then Wati said something about "anaknye..." and then I don't know why, I just looked at that someone and he was smiling at me while I was still grinning at what Wati said (which although I couldn't quite catch it, it's just polite to at least smile...). And then I glanced down at my cup for a second before looking back up and he suddenly turned again and smiled...hahakz...
*Blush Blush...*
So anyway...SUE was working today! YAY!! Finished closing damn fast la because I started at 3.30 (Crazy sia...) and then we had some mini dance lessons...hahakz...oh ya! Before Sue arrived, I wanted to read the roster, but the file was at the bar counter, and I was surprised to see him (another someone) there, writing down his schedule. Oh well...whatever, but I still needed to read the roster, so I just went up to him and said, "tompang wak..." and just pulled the file from underneath his arm...again...WHATEVER!
Sad story, eh? (Private joke between me and Sue...)

"Butterflies Don't Lie"You walk by and my heart beatsA thousand times at once it seemsAnd every time you look at meI have to tell myself to breatheWith just a smile you capture me, and I start to meltEmotions then take over me like I've never feltI could tell me heart each timeIt isn't love, you're just some guyThere's nothing there and what I feelIs in my head, it isn't realBut I can't deny, can't even tryCause I know inside, butterflies don't lieIs there a chance you could be mineIf I let you see insideOr do you love somebody elseShould I keep this to myselfI could risk a broken heart by telling you the truthOr I could keep my secret safe and when I see youI could tell me heart each timeIt isn't love, you're just some guyThere's nothing there and what I feelIs in my head, it isn't realBut I can't deny, can't even tryCause I know inside, butterflies don't lieOnce again there you areAnxiousness, nervous heartButterflies flutteringCan only mean one thingI could tell me heart each timeIt isn't love, you're just some guyThere's nothing there and what I feelIs in my head, it isn't realBut I can't deny, can't even tryCause I know inside, butterflies don't lieLong entry today...I'm just really down at the moment..heartbroken actually...I guess I wasn't meant to fancy anybody...What I thought was going to be the best week of my life, though at times it was fun and there were smiles and laughter, overall, it had to end with a big bang to my face. Call it a rude awakening, 'cause it just slams you with the truth. Anyway, if I'm going to be writing every detail all down, I doubt he's going to read it anyway, so I'll try my best...maybe when I look back, say 5 years from now, maybe I'd laugh about how big of a fool I was at 17. So, this is more of an entry to myself. It's going to sound weird and all, so...
MondaySo, yeah Khai...you had to wake up as usual and haul your butt to school although you're pretty much dreading every second. I know you always grumble and complain the night before that you hate to go to school and deal with assignments that are piling and all, but you seem to embrace a new day with a positive light. But you know that everyday is something new. It wouldn't be like yesterday or tomorrow...So anyway...you had OC, where your research is STILL not done yet...DET (*blank*) where you have to remember to ALWAYS check in to your "super learner" (whatever that is...) and IDS (where you just found out there's a bloody assignment)...
TuesdayYou hate Tuesdays as well...there's CRS, where you had to do an essay (YUCKS!) and not forgetting IDS, which you pretty much don't give a damn about...
WednesdayYour FAVOURITE day of the week! Although it's a drag waking up at 7 in the morning to go to school, which just so had to be freaking far (why can't they just built a bloody poly at jurong area or something so I can just drop out of this utterly pressurising course and pick something less demanding...sheesh!), you basked in the fact that class ends at 1 and you have hiphop afterwards! Whee! Hiphop was okay, and it was fun! You'll have a test at the end of 8 weeks, so work hard to be in the performing team so you can kick the other schools' butts (especially Republic Poly...)
ThursdayThere's DET and Drawing Studio today. You're as usual, lost in DET, but Mr Lau showed some videos, which was quite interesting! You love Drawing Studio although it can get frustrating at times. You have to sketch out using charcoal, and you've really improved, haven't you? Remember the first sketch you did using pencil? It sucked, didn't it? Hahakz...you're DEFINITELY better now...not bad, but not so good either...You even watched a DVD called "The Godfathers of the Medicis" or something like that, and it was really really brilliant!
After school, you went down to JSB to meet Sue! After so long! FINALLY!
FridayCome on, admit it. You LOVE work. What's not to love? Hafiz did closing for you (awww...bless him!) and there weren't many orders, PLUS you're working with people like Faizah and Anisah...the seniors! Whoa...it was really kecoh, wasn't it? And yes, the fella was working, and you got teased and bullied to the max! If you only knew...
He took your nachos...he was so keypo when you were talking to wengho about the 5G sauce...alot of things happened that night, but while you're typing this, you probably don't want to remember them all in so much detail. It'll only hurt, won't it?
SaturdayYou were heartbroken, weren't you? He's attached, and it's time to move on. Maybe you've come to realise you've had enough right now. You're thinking you suck at liking somebody because "everytime I find someone that I like, we always end up just being friends"...You're already preparing to avoid him at the most when he arrived, you needed some time to yourself, to get used to the idea that to him, you're probably just some girl working there. Let's face it: he couldn't even remember your name, and how did you manage to let it just slide by and give in when he wanted to ask a favour from you? Was he that difficult to resist? Maybe you're just too tired to even care. You didn't even blink when he was making that pitiful face. You continued with your task at hand, pretending he didn't affect you one way or another. You were a good actress, you know. Flatly, you just asked him to get the dough for you, not even smiling when he thanked you like you've done something HUGE.
You keep trying, khai, even when you know you can't win. Are you that determined? Or are you just too weak? He asked you for nachos again, and you told him where it was even though you couldn't even look at him to say it. He poked your side but by some miracle, you were immune to his touch. Again, how did you do that? You weren't your bubbly self when you talked to him, and you know that. He was the noisy one while you were mumbling replies to his questions.
You said you don't care anymore.
Are you sure?

Weeks are just whizzing by now, and everything's a rush! Rushing to meet deadlines for assignments, rushing for class...I think I'm finally able to breathe now. Of course the week ends with work, which I find although it's as stressful and tiring as ever where you just want to kill those people who ordered, it's just been quite usual for me. I feel sorta blessed to be in such an environment, you know, where everything's independent.
MondayHoliday! Yes! That means no OC, no DET and no HCD lecture!! Why can't all first days of the month be labour day? Haiz...okay, so I worked in the morning, 11 to 5, and it wasn't as busy as night shift. I've always fancied the morning shift, but I rarely get them because of school. The crew wasn't so bad...I lost my cap and I spent most of my time not wearing one. There was a point where I was loading my garlic bread onto the pan and I guess Iwasn't really concentrating. My mind was somewhere else and subconciously I held the pan with my bare hands. Bloody hell! It was fucking HOT! I just dropped the whole thing onto the floor! I thought of staying back for a while, you know, 'cause the fella's supposed to work night that day but he was on MC. Oh well...
TuesdayUrgh! Tuesday...means CRS and IDS. Double urgh! Okay, so CRS wasn't so bad. It was rather interesting. There was a debate where we were separated into 2 groups to debate on the notion "Should Voting Start At The Age of 18 Instead of 21?" and my group was the proposition side. Of course, me, being sort of anti-social, I just kept quiet and contributed ideas now and then. They chose the 4 speakers and I was picked by the lecturer to be one of the panel of so-called judges. It was an okay debate, but what can you expect when you're given only like 30 mins or so to come up with your arguments and points. So at the end, the proposition won, not because I was supporting them or anything (frankly, I'm not that interested in debates) but it was a voting system. IDS as usual...ho-hum...
WednesdayVDS and ONLY VDS...whee! It was a long 4 hours, and I was seriously falling asleep! We did Adobe Illustrator and I don't like the program at all...so not fun...then we had to do our presentation on our art pieces, and I was up first. So yadda yadda yadda....then after school, had lunch with Audrey, Sharon, Syaiful and Daryl (or is it Darrel?) and found out there was hiphop at 4, so stayed back for a while...went to play pool...hahakz...scary see the pros there, they hit the balls very violent...then found out that Audrey, Jazreel, Nicholas and Siu Ping was auditioning for the SP Musical...hahakz...at first I thought of giving it a go as well, but it was such a long wait and there was still hiphop...so I didn't sign up. Then there WAS hiphop but it was only for those chosen ones. I didn't even go to the try-outs but I can join by just registering and coming for the practice next week. Whee! Gotta pay $40 for the instructor's fee. Urgh!
ThursdayFirst class is DET...urgh! More things that I don't remember. I just can't grasp the concept of what the lecturer's trying to say! It's like alien to me, you know. And then there's drawing studio where we've moved on to sketching simple shapes using charcoal! Whee! I love charcoal...so fun to play with! And then we watched a DVD about the Medicis during the Renaissance period where Lorenzo was in power. It's really interesting to see how art really grew and it's really amazing how artists at that time could be such a genius! People like Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael (basically the whole Ninja Turtles) came about. No work today! Wohoo! But got really fucked up after school. Don't ask.
FridayIt was raining really heavily in the morning and I arrived to class late. Eeps! But there were others who were even later than I am, so yeah...VDS means working on Adobe Illustrator again and again until we get the hang of the program, followed by the continuation of the presentation. Class ended, and I went down to the lab with Audrey to print out my HCD assignment. Got back my one-minute essay and I got an A-...hmm...not bad, but not good either...Then we had to do a group project for our 2nd assignment, and I have Audrey, Sharon, Vincent, HuiXiang and ZiHui in my group...hahakz...
SaturdayOMG! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE TODAY! Woke up at 11 and I worked on my creative journal. I love handicrafts and personalising stuff. Remember how I vandalised my shoe? Hahakz...so then work was as usual tiring, stressful and fun! Hafiz, Faizah, WengHo and I were doing BOH, which is a totally fun combo. Kecoh! There isn't a single quiet moment I tell you. Hafiz kept teasing me, which can get a bit annoying at times. I tripped over WengHo's feet...ouch! Accidentally cut my finger with the box...just a small cut...nothing really...And then I was wrapping garlic bread or something, and suddenly, someone sorta poked/pinched my side. I shrieked and turned to see the fella behind me, towards the map. I think I was blushing so hard! And then kena teased again, and this time Hafiz and Faizah know the truth. Die! I'm toast! They kept teasing and stuff like that whenever he was around. At one point even Faizah said, "Eh...muke merah sei..." Urgh! But there was one time where Faizah was eating curry or something like that and she asked the fella if he wanted some, and so he came over and said, "aper ni? Rendang eh?" and I was like, "sini mane ade rendang. Curry la..." So I had to extend till 10, but it was fun! He was oiling pan, and maybe it's his first time or something and I was removing the separators from the pans when he tapped on my shoulder and sort of gestured towards the pans. So I pulled out the trolley for him...hahakz...I think he's suspecting something...better keep my cool!
